Private residence Chalandri

This two-story single-family residence is situated in the central portion of a 370.63 sq.m. plot, with one side
abutting the site boundary. A spacious perimeter green zone surrounds the house, enhancing privacy and creating
a sense of tranquility and seclusion from the immediate residential environment.
The residence develops across three levels. Utility and support spaces are located in the basement, while primary
living functions are organized on the ground and first floors, shaping daily life around natural light, views, and a
continuous spatial flow.
On the ground floor, the living room, dining area, and kitchen form an open-plan, dual-aspect space that
establishes a direct connection with the semi-outdoor and outdoor areas through extensive glazing. The semi￾outdoor space acts as an extension of the kitchen, serving as a gathering and hosting area during the summer
months and reinforcing the continuity between interior and exterior spaces. The ground level is completed with a
guest room and a bathroom, rounding out the home's functional organization for daily use.

Water serves as a central compositional element, with the swimming pool positioned in the outdoor area defined
by the main building volumes. This placement completes the composition’s geometry and forms the core of
outdoor living. The water feature enhances visual sightlines and contributes to a mild microclimate, introducing atmospheric quality and spatial depth to both outdoor and indoor spaces.
The upper floor accommodates the private zone of the house, featuring a children's bedroom and a master
bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe—both equipped with private en-suite bathrooms. A home office is also located
on this level, maintaining visual contact with the living room below. A double-height void above the living space
forms the vertical axis of the composition, allowing natural light to diffuse throughout and strengthening spatial continuity across levels.

The residence's morphological identity stems from the clean geometry of its volumes and the synthesis of
materials. The main white volume of the building interacts with the light floor tones, contrasting with black surfaces
in the living area and kitchen. Black window frames and glass balustrades accentuate the architectural edges and
construction details, highlighting transparency and flow between spaces. Through a balance of minimalism and
materiality, the residence achieves a timeless and serene architectural presence.
